A network allowing local Essex artists to exhibit together by forming informal collaborations for particular events. We share ideas, costs, publicity, studio space on an ad-hoc basis, and a passion for showing our work
The Waterside Artists reunite in 2022 at the Brightlingsea Museum
We welcome working with other Essex artists on projects, art trails, joint exhibitions and events. We are all members of other organisations such as Colchester Art Society, Dedham Art Society and Anglian Potters
Nicky is a passionate ceramicist sculptor and artist who hand crafts every piece she creates, Her pottery and studio are located in Brightlingsea
Julie is an expressive and intuitive artist living & working in Brightlingsea. Julie uses art to share her experience and emotions
Margaret is a much loved artist who works & lives in Brightlingsea producing intricate mixed-media paintings also available as limited edition prints
Lesley Brooks is a pet, people and wildlife artist. Her detailed and emotional work is mostly created in pastels her medium of choice due to their intense colour and rich texture Lesley welcomes commissions
Sue Parker is a portraitist working in several media including textiles. She creates & sculpts lifelike and sometimes humorous creatures & characterful dolls using her own unique patterns. Her Artdolls are collected by many including commissions. Sue also paints atmospheric portraits and has ArtDolls on sale at the Minories Gallery Colchester
Originally from France and a self-taught artist, Pascale Penfold works with two contrasting media, clay and glass. Her sculptures and glass work are a feast for the eyes and the touch, the one with form and texture, the other with colour and light . Pascale welcomes commissions
The Essex Artists Travelling Sketchbook 2018 is on tour to great acclaim and will be at the Brightlingsea Regatta followed by the Christine Storey Gallery. If you would like to contribute to the 2019 new Sketchbook also on Tour let us know asap! You can always create a work on paper and stick it in - the rule is you can only sit on it for 48 hours
The Art & Crafts Trail at the Brightlingsea Regatta has attracted over 40 local Essex artists for 2019 -
Exhibitions in the Art & Craft Tent, Brightlingsea Sailing Club, University Community Sailing Club and Colne Yacht Club - all on the Brightlingsea Regatta Art & Crafts Trail 20-21 July 2019.
